Listening Pond: Stories for Kids and Their Adults
Premise:
Listening Pond: Stories for Kids and their Adults is a storytelling podcast intended for listeners of ALL ages, not just for kids, but also for the adults in their world. Each episode is a new adventure, with an original musical score and cover artwork. Listening Pond glides through the year with its audience, touching on seasonal themes and the changing weather. The stories address challenges kids face every day – confronting fear, embracing and celebrating difference, and managing jealousy to name a few. Each episode ranges from eight minutes to just over 30 minutes. Listening Pond debuted in October 2022 and releases stories approximately every two to three weeks.
About the Show Production:
Listening Pond: Stories for Kids and their Adults has a production team of three co-creators, who all happen to be relatives - Eryn Gauen and Eric Gauen (siblings) and their cousin Asa Gauen. Eryn and Asa take turns authoring and narrating their own stories. Eric composes the music, creating a unique soundtrack and sound design for each tale. Asa produces a piece of cover artwork for each episode, providing a visual to further enhance the experience of their young listeners. Introductions and Outros for each episode are created by the kids who tune in.
